Resources - Tipsheet: Guilt free 'me-time'1. Be realistic
The world will not fall in if you go to the gym, see a movie, or shop for clothes. Your family will survive without you for the afternoon.
2. Forget guilt There will always be more washing, tidying and dishes to do. But they can wait an hour while you do something for yourself.
3. Remember when Before kids, we all knew how to find time to read the paper, go for a swim or do yoga. Take a leaf out of your former self’s book.
4. Focus on energy not time We all have too much to do and too little time. And there will never be enough time. But if we don’t have time away from our children we won’t have the energy to do everything we need to do.
5. Be well If you care for yourself, you care better for your kids. So stop making excuses! |
